FOR ALL LEVELS
The first session of this skill-focused series is a comprehensive introduction to mould making, focusing on plaster as a primary tool in your practice. Whether you are looking to be efficient in your production or create complex shapes that are difficult to achieve by hand, understanding the mechanics of plaster is a fundamental skill.
While plaster moulds are most commonly associated with slip-casting, their utility extends much further.
In this workshop, we will explore how moulds are used in press-moulding and hump-moulding to create uniform shapes and components with precision and details. You will learn how to design and cast moulds for functional items like plates and bowls, as well as elements like handles and decorative motifs.
The class runs for 3 hrs between 14:00 and 17:00 on Saturday 18th April 2026.
All the materials and masks are provided.
